This class is open to all artistic levels, including beginners, and all supplies are provided, so you can simply show up ready to create. We’ll begin with an introduction to watercolor basics. From there, you’ll learn how to paint individual floral and greenery elements using a loose, approachable style. Join us for this month's book club read!
We meet on the last Wednesday of the month, 6:30pm.
April's book pick is from author Stacy Sivinski.
———
Apothica's April book club read is The Crescent Moon Tearoom, the debut novel from Stacy Sivinski (who holds a PhD from Notre Dame!) set in 19th-century Chicago. All are welcome to join us for discussion over tea and nibbles.
Ever since the untimely death of their parents, triplets Anne, Beatrix, and Violet Quigley have made a business of threading together the stories that rest in the swirls of ginger, cloves, and cardamom that lie at the bottom of their customers’ cups. That is, until the Council of Witches comes calling with news that the city Diviner has lost her powers, and they suddenly find themselves victim to a long-foretold family curse that threatens to tear the sisters apart. With dwindling time to rewrite their future and help three other witches challenge their own destinies, the Quigleys set out to bargain with Fate. But in focusing so closely on saving each other, will they lose sight of themselves?

Apothica Book Club - Soulless (Parasol Protectorate series)
Join us for this month's book club read!
We meet on the last Wednesday of the month, 6:30pm.
March's pick is from author Gail Carriger--the first in the Parasol Protectorate series of books
———
Buffy meets Jane Austen in the first book of this wickedly funny NYT bestselling series about a young woman whose brush with the supernatural leads to a deadly investigation of London's high society. Join us for tea and nibbles to discuss the book that inspired Apothica Teas!
Alexia Tarabotti is laboring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.
Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire -- and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.
With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?
Soulless is the first book of the Parasol Protectorate series: a comedy of manners set in Victorian London, full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

Join us for this month's book club read!
We meet on the last Wednesday of the month, 6:30pm.
February's pick is from bestselling author Brandon Sanderson---a captivating adventure that meshes Jason Bourne, epic fantasy, and time travel.
———
A man awakes in a clearing in what appears to be medieval England with no memory of who he is, where he came from, or why he is there. Chased by a group from his own time, his sole hope for survival lies in regaining his missing memories, making allies among the locals, and perhaps even trusting in their superstitious boasts. His only help from the “real world” should have been a guidebook entitled The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England, except his copy exploded during transit. The few fragments he managed to save provide clues to his situation, but can he figure them out in time to survive?
